2023年9月15日晚上19:00，CSU国巍教授课题组2023年9月份组会于红3楼二楼会议室召开。此次会议主要由博士生Medaouar Mohamed汇报自己近期的工作进展以及下一阶段的工作。汇报结束后，组内其他成员分别就汇报内容进行了热烈的讨论。
博士生Medaouar Mohamed的报告题目为《Rotational magnetic damper subjected to building: Design, testing and evaluation》，本次汇报内容：In this presentation is involves the integration of a magnetorheological damper, which functions by harnessing rotational forces to achieve energy dissipation. This innovative application of magneto-rheology is at the heart of our investigation, serving as a crucial component in our pursuit of understanding and optimizing energy dissipation processes. In this presentation I introduced some of studies which have been conducted over the past few decades on magnetorheological (MR) dampers, which are considered as a type of semi-active vibration control devices. These dampers have garnered significant interest due to their appealing characteristics, including mechanical simplicity, a wide dynamic range, low power requirements, substantial force capacity, and robustness. As a result of these advantageous features, MR dampers have demonstrated a strong compatibility with the demands and limitations of various applications, making them a promising solution for safeguarding civil infrastructure systems against severe natural hazards like earthquakes and strong winds. MR dampers can be categorized into three main modes of operation: valve mode, direct shear mode, and squeeze mode.
